Mr. Nikolaos Kefalakis holds a Diploma degree in Electronic Computing Systems from the Higher Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus and an M.Sc degree in Information Technology and Telecommunications from the AIT (Athens Information Technology). Since February 2008, he has been working as a researcher in the Internet of Things Group of AIT where he was/is involved in various FP7 and H2020 projects. Specifically in the context of the EU FP7 projects he is the co-founder, manager, system architect and developer lead of the multiple award winning OpenIoT Open Source project (https://github.com/OpenIotOrg) and the co-founder, manager, system architect, developer lead and main contributor of the AspireRFID Open Source project (http://wiki.aspire.objectweb.org/). Mr. Kefalakis main area of technical expertise is Auto-ID Technologies (RFID, Barcodes…), Multitier architecture systems, Sensor Networks, Rich Client Platform applications, Business Process Modeling and Enterprise Systems. Furthermore he has specialization in the planning of microcomputers, at the designing and growth of embedded systems and good knowledge in the electronics and digital systems. Finally Mr. Kefalakis, is a Ph.D candidate at the Aalborg University of Denmark.
