Gregory S. Yovanof, Ph.D. is α Professor of Innovation & Entrepreneurship and a former Associate Dean of the AIT. He is currently the Head of the “Research in Innovation & Entrepreneurship” – RIE research group, while in the past he held the positions of Graduate Program Director of the “Management of Business, Innovation and Technology” – MBIT MSc level program & Head of the B-WiSE research group.
His professional career also includes a twenty-year tenure in the high tech industry in the greater Asia-Pacific region, where he worked as a staff scientist at the Eastman Kodak Research Labs and Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, engaged over a period of nine years in multimedia signal processing for computer peripheral devices. He has also led the development of several award-winning ICs for the DVD market as a co-founder and executive manager at two start-up companies in Silicon Valley.
While at AIT, Dr. Yovanof has participated in several EC co-funded research projects; has taught numerous graduate courses in information & computing technology and in the management of Business, Innovation and Technology; has conducted well-received executive seminars and training courses offered to the local ICT industry; and, has organized well received scientific and industrial workshops in emerging technologies.
Dr. Yovanof has served as member of the Board of Hellas Online. An active member of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, he currently offers strategy consultancy services to a number of start-up companies and clusters of innovations in the ICT, Biotech and Maritime sectors.
