Dimitrios Klonidis

Dr. Dimitrios Klonidis (B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.) is a Senior Research Fellow, at Athens Information Technology centre (AIT), in the group of Networks and Optical Communications. He has joint AIT as faculty member in September 2005.

He was awarded his PhD degree in the field of Optical communications and networking from the University of Essex, UK in 2006, his MSc degree in Telecommunication and Information Systems from the same university and his first degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 1998.

Dr. Klonidis has been actively involved in the management of a large number of EU and national funded research projects, working as main investigator, team leader and technology developer in many of them. Technical expertise has been gained in various areas, including: optical network design and optimization for access, metro and core networks, optical transmission and switching technologies, network planning control and management and experimental performance evaluation.

His research activities resulted in a total of over 150 publications in international Journals and conferences (h-index: 23)
