AIT’s B-WiSE Group participated in the European Researchers’ Night that took place at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) downtown campus in Athens, Greece, last Friday Sept. 27, 2019 (see https://www.ntua.gr/ntuaren/).

The Researchers’ Night is organized by the European Commission’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and takes place in over 370 cities across Europe, attracting over 1.500.000 visitors annually (see https://ec.europa.eu/…/actions/european-researchers-night_en). It aims at bringing researchers closer to the public and at showcasing the diversity of research and its impact on our daily lives.

AIT participated with a poster in the context of the ITN Project PAINLESS, in which it participates (http://painless-itn.com/) and whose research is coordinated by Dr. Papadias. It was presented by B-WiSE Group Members Nithin Babu (PAINLESS Early Stage Researcher – ESR), Ioannis Chondroulis and Dimitrios Ntaikos. The poster showed an overview of the project, which deals with energy-autonomous / portable wireless access points and showed some early results by the ESRs hosted at AIT. It attracted significant attention by several attendees, who were informed about the project and asked several questions about its details. It was one of the first public dissemination events of the project, one of several to follow!
