AIT’s Broadband Wireless & Sensor Networks (B-WiSE) Research Group has won a $25K grant by the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) in order to measure fixed microwave wireless channels.

The grant was awarded by TIP to AIT’s B-WiSE team, with Prof. Papadias as the Principal Investigator, after a competitive submission process that ended in a total of 5 proposals from teams around the world accepted for funding in the 1st wave of applications.

AIT plans to perform the measurements together with Cosmote in Athens, Greece, and with the full support and provided equipment by TIP.
The intended studies include the measurement and characterization of fixed wireless channels and interference in the 60 GHz frequency band over a variety of propagation environments.

The Telecom Infra Project (TIP) is a collaborative telecom community that was launched in February of 2016 with the goal of accelerating the pace of innovation in the telecom industry (see https://telecominfraproject.com/).
