Dr. Ioannis Tomkos was invited by the Greek Ministry of “Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media” and the “National Telecommunications and Post Commission – EETT” to contribute to the co-authoring of the book entitled: “Growth Prospects for Electronic Communications in Greece: Strategy – Challenges -Vision”.

The Book (intended as a “positioning” document), consists of 18 chapters, each authored by some of the key players of the telecom market in Greece; including top Government officials/Policy makers, the CEOs of the 3 major Greek Telecom Operators, the Country Managing Directors of 2 of the major Telecom Vendors operating in Greece, the General Managers of 4 major Greek Professional Associations, and 6 selected academics who are internationally recognized experts on telecoms.

The contribution by Ioannis Tomkos and Dimitrios Klonidis of AIT, is focused on the emergence of Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP) networks in Greece and their role in the upcoming deployment of the 5th generation of mobile networks (5G).
