Professor Papadias attended the kickoff of a recently awarded project by the Academy of Finland
entitled “Energy Efficient IoT Deployment for Systems of the Future (ee-IoT),” in which he acts as an external expert. The project is coordinated by Professors Hirley Alves and Pedro Nardelli from the University of Oulu and Lappeenranta University of Technology, respectively. Professor Papadias will provide advice in the project’s Work Package 2 (“Data aggregation pre-processing and access techniques for energy efficiency”).
The project kickoff took place at University of Oulu’s Centre for Wireless Communications (CWC) on Oct. 4, 2018. After the kickoff, Professor Papadias delivered an invited talk entitled
“Some Enabling Technologies for Energy and Spectrally Efficient Massive Machine Type Communications.”
The project will last for 3 years and will complement AIT’s B-WiSE Group’s activities in the area of energy-efficient wireless networks.
