HM Queen Rania Scholarships

The grant initiative was created in recognition of HM Queen Rania’s efforts on education and development of modern technological skills for young people, and was inaugurated by Her Royal Majesty during her visit to AIT in December 2005.  A five-year extension of the grant program offered by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah to Jordanian students from Athens Information Technology was announced on October 2009. The number of grants allocated by AIT, in recognition of Her Majesty in 2005, is increasing from 14 to 17 per year.

Four scholarships are awarded on an annual basis to Jordanian upper-middle and senior managers and professionals in the public and private sectors who face significant change and transition in their workplace and/or societies, and who would like to enhance their influence both internally and externally. Individuals in all functional areas of responsibilities and all industries will benefit from The Art and Science of Negotiation Executive Education Program. Senior government representatives (from ministries of foreign affairs, defense, economy, telecommunications, etc.), elected officials, policymakers, leaders in the private sector (general managers, sales managers, business development managers, consultants) and their non-profit sector counterparts are all eligible to apply. The success rate for candidates over the years has fluctuated from 10% to 22%..

Entry requirements
: A full CV and fluency in the English language are the minimum requirements.

Selection is based on academic merit, and professional achievement. Participants’ expertise and experience are critical to the learning process, they are therefore selected to reflect a broad spectrum of individuals engaged in, or seeking to engage in, corporate and/or public governance.  Applications are evaluated by a Committee formed by AIT and the facilitating, led by Harvard Professor Kaboolian. The results are communicated to the Scholarships Program team at Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development and a final decision with regard to the final scholarship recipients is made in consultation with the relevant bodies.

HMQR Scholarship Results are announced on April 1st, second runners are also notified in case any of the scholars is not able to participate. Once the scholarships are announced, , the selected participants will receive a visa letter to enable them apply  immediately since the issuing procedure takes more than two weeks.
