walkThe Art of 21 Century Communication: Strategically Navigating the New Media Landscape is an interactive three-day, content-driven course for executives focusing on communicating effectively through traditional, new and social media.  Participants will communicate around a real-world, evolving issue with multiple implications on their business and it’s reputation.

Participants will learn how to build a message platform that can be used as the foundation for all communications around that issue.  At the end of the course, following all the tutorials and exercises, each participant will have a working guide to effectively communicate news, initiatives and announcements their companies may encounter.

With the advent of new and social media there is a tendency to take strategic messaging for granted. Yet, a strategic communication initiative must be content-driven and incorporate all relevant mediums.

Derwin Johnson, a senior communication consultant with more than 30 years’ experience as a journalist, communication executive and educator who has worked for organizations around the world such as CNN, ABC News, Columbia University, APCO and Hill & Knowlton., brings a unique perspective and insight to sessions that are both an enriching and an enjoyable experience for participants. Mr Johnson will help communication strategists to understand different value propositions needed to communicate with internal and external audiences and how they impact the organization across channels.

Today, more than ever, it is critical that strong messages be part of an effective communications strategy for today’s leaders.  By focusing more on content when embracing traditional, as well as social media business leaders and companies can more effectively manage and enhance the reputations of their companies and organizations.

The program is a focused learning experience enhanced with case studies, messaging exercises and drills providing an updated, systematic approach on how to successfully attract the attention of key audiences through traditional and new media.
