SUMMARY
Theodoros Petsatodis is currently pursuing his PhD at Center for TeleInFrastruktur (CTiF), Aalborg University (AAU) Denmark.  He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Automation Engineering from Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus in March 2006. He holds a Masters of Science in Information and Telecommunications Technologies from Athens Information Technology (AIT). From September 2004 to July 2005 he worked for “Emphasis Telematics” as a member of Electronics Design Team, being responsible for system level architecture of the gas-tank level GSM-telemetry application, Electronic & Analog Design of the supporting hardware and prototype acceptance. He was also responsible for system designing according the International Safety Considerations for Operation within Explosive Areas. Since February 2008, he has been working as a researcher in the Autonomic and Grid Computing Group of AIT. His research interests focus in Speech Processing, Computer Vision and especially Voice Activity Detection and Bio-Signal Processing. He is experienced with several tools for system modeling and simulation (LabVIEW, MATLAB, SIMULINK), circuit and PCB designing tools (PROTEL, OrCAD, Eagle) and tools for microcontroller programming (Keil-C compiler, Code Vision AVR, CCStudio). Moreover, he is experienced with PLC and SCADA programming environments (S7-STL, Instruction List HMI , Siemens ProTool (Control & SCADA/HMI)).

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Feb 2008 - Present:  Researcher at Athens Information Technology - AIT AGC Group

Activities:

-Design and implementation of new technologies for supporting independent living and active ageing for the HERMES (“Cognitive Care and Guidance for Active Aging”) EU project (FP7-216709).

-DNR (Digital Noise Reduction): Industrial project dealing with the noise reduction of audio signals within communication channels without degrading their quality.

Sep 2004 - Aug 2005: Emphasis Telematics Electronics Design Team:

Activities:

- System level architecture of the new application for gas-tank level telemetry through GSM networks.
- Modifications on the previous telemetry device so that it fulfills the needs of the new application (Electronic & Analog Design).
- Selection of the supporting hardware (microwave, ultrasonic level measurement sensors) for the new telemetry application.
- Prototype acceptance.
- Responsible for System Operation & Installation Safety Considerations in Explosive Areas. Design and on-site installation supervision of the telemetry system for “Petrogaz” Greek Gas Company. (In Accordance to European and American Safety Standards).
