| Program Overview |
|
A program for professionals developing essential business skills. The Master of Science in Management of Business, Innovation and Technology is created after much market research to determine the type of knowledge and skills needed by IT professionals to upgrade and make themselves valuable to their organizations. It is not an MBA program. While the traditional MBA program focuses On practical application of management theory and frameworks, the MBIT program allows for the pursuit of highly focused research.
The MBIT program addresses an increasingly demanding requirement by the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) industry for technical expertise combined with business skills. With an overall objective of developing the insight and skills critical for effective management of business, innovation and technology, it focuses on three critical competencies that successful managers need to possess. These are strategic management, innovation management, and techno-economic value analysis of new products or services.
The program’s goal is to provide students with an overview of the status and dynamics of the ICT industry integrated with a solid grounding in strategic management of the innovation process. After completing this program the students will be able to: identify key technological trends and disruptive technologies in the ICT industry; evaluate the value potential and develop a complete business plan for a new service or product; manage its production during the early phase of its life-cycle until it crosses the chasm to mass market acceptance; and, plan for the next generation product in the context of the overall company product portfolio.

| Objectives |
In the modern era of the knowledge society, connected economy and globalization, the capacity to innovate is a key competitive advantage for companies and nations, but the management of innovation is risky.
Designed to tackle today’s critical challenges in managing innovation in a technology driven, globally competitive business environment, the Management of Business, Innovation and Technology (MBIT) program at Athens Information Technology (AIT) integrates the best formal education, ongoing research and industrial practice to provide executives/ managers and their companies with innovation management capabilities that sustain superior business performance and meet customer needs.
You have now acquired a number of specific management skills and knowledge and already put them into practice. It is now time to fine-tune your more personal qualities, usually referred to as “soft skills”, or leadership skills: competency, communication and relationship skills, vision, pragmatism, ethical sense, consistency, ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts, as well as to inspire and motivate people. To accomplish this, the MBIT program covers three areas of development:
- Applied Decision Making: Making decisions in complex situations through major business cases and games; building, selling, and implementing a business plan; and main current issues in international finance and markets.
- Leadership: Involve, motivate and communicate through project management; change management; and public speaking and communication techniques
- Corporate Citizenship: Manage relationships of a company with its stakeholders in the public sector and civil society, through responsible contribution to advocacy and policy formulation and design and implementation of context-sensitive "non-market" strategies.
